Ummm... I don't need sunblock. I know better than to touch the reefs when I'm swimming in the Caribbean. And I actually like fish eyes.

now here is where I have had 'discussions' with my Black friends before...you DO need sunscreen! You can get cancer just like anyone else! you don't BURN as easily but you still need to take care of your skin!

OK...for real.

A Norwegian motorman who I used to drink with when I worked for Royal Caribbean told me a few survival tips. 1) The human body will float in water whether you know how to swim or not. Salt water is more dense than fresh water, so you float better in the ocean, 2) In the Caribbean, you want to float/swim west because the current take you towards he islands. 3) Africans can handle the sun. He didn't really have to tell me that, but he said it to make me feel less anxious.

Honestly?? I use a 5 on my face, and cocoanut oil on my body. The sun is not likely to give me cancer, but it will give me wrinkles.
