I don't know what kind of publication the Herald Sun is, but this story reads like supermarket tabloid fodder. That makes me suspicious right out of the gate.

Now let's entertain for a moment that the stroke and subsequent re-establishment of neural pathways in Chris' brain resulted in him emerging from the coma with an attraction for men instead of women. That does not explain the job change from bank to hairdresser. Nor does it explain the queer hair and gauges. All of those elements are personal decisions, and are not dictated by one's sexual orientation.

IMO, Chris was in the closet, and he used the coma as his ticket out.

OR the Herald Sun fabricated this whole story for entertainment purposes.

Yep but it's a short trip from male bank teller to hairdresser. Hey, maybe he said hurtful, homophobic things pre coma and ain't man enough to come out and admit he was wrong. Or us fags got hit in the head when we were young and look at us now. Wait, HE IS THE PERFECT VICTIM!

this theory doesn't hold up, Brad...there would be a whole lot more country boys being gay than city boys..I don't think I KNOW a boy around here that hasn't had some form of head slapping..

 Cheesy Cheesy Wink

it'd put a whole new spin on "Boy, I'm fixing to knock some sense into that head!"

heck, even if it wasn't a parent or someone slapping him up side the head, Dad is gonna assume that whatever caused it did it because the boy was doing something stupid to start with .."Oh, you were out there swinging off the top of the barn with the hay pulley? Maybe it knocked some sense into you...you can't find something productive to do, boy, I bet I can!"
